• What kind of experience do you have?
NSP was formed by Christopher S. Hawk and J. M. Guinn who have over twelve years of investigative experience in both federal and private investigations. In the past, Hawk and Guinn have conducted investigations for the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Department of Transportation, and Department of Justice.

  • How do you do it?
Our program is integrated in the hiring and selection process. After receiving the applicant's written consent, NSP searches numerous public and private records and contacts educational institutions and employers.

  • How do you acquire your information?
We utilize databases that employ individuals who visit government agencies, courthouses in the US as well as internationally. NSP professionals also contact employers and educational institutions and perform county level searches.

  • What days do you offer searches?
Our databases are available 24 hours per day every day of the year. All requests received after hours will be processed the next business day. Also, non database search requests will be processed during normal business hours.

  • How does an "instant search" differ from a "non-instant search"?
Instant searches are database searches where results are returned instantly. Non-instant searches employ NSP professionals to perform the requested search.

  • Why should I do a County Criminal History Search if a Statewide Criminal Search is available?
We recommend County Criminal History Searches because they are the most complete form of criminal background search, requiring a researcher to physically visit the court and review records. Statewide Criminal Searches are based on databases run by the state or private firms, and they rely on the County Courts to submit records to them. However, they can be useful in augmenting the County Criminal Searches done in areas of known addresses. If a record outside a known county is found, the employer has the option of further researching the record.

  • Does my company risk alienating applicants?
NSP's screenings are non-intrusive and respects the applicant's privacy rights. It is also imperative to understand that a pre-screening program's objective is to see how a person has performed in the public aspect of their life. Items such as criminal records or previous job performance reflect how a person behaved towards others, or neglected their obligations or responsibilites.
